The Searchers explores the phenomenon of Western spiritual tourism in India. We were interested in how this seemingly benign act functions as a legacy of Orientalist perspectives and colonial history. What we found was a complex and varied range of experiences - and a more nuanced relationship than we expected between India and the Westerners who travel through its religious landscape. - SB & JS.
