Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift is geboren in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, als dochter van Andrea en Scott Swift en heeft nog een jongere broertje Austin. Ze is opgegroeid op een boerderij waar kerstbomen worden gekweekt. Op haar tiende begon ze met optreden op karaokewedstrijden, markten en festivals die meestal in de buurt van haar woonplaats waren. Ze heeft ook ooit een hele zomer besteed aan het schrijven van een boek van maar liefst 250 pagina's lang, dat echter nooit is uitgegeven. Swifts grootste voorbeelden waren haar grootmoeder (die operazangeres was) en LeAnn Rimes. Ze heeft altijd al countrymuziek gezongen. Op haar elfde ging ze voor het eerst naar Nashville waar ze aan elk platenlabel een cd met zelfingezongen karaokeliedjes gaf, maar ze kwam met lege handen terug. Velen wezen haar af door haar te jonge leeftijd. Swift gaf niet snel op en bleef liedjes schrijven en naar Nashville terugkomen om liedjes te schrijven met andere songwriters. Op haar twaalfde kon Taylor al liedjes schrijven en op een gitaar spelen. Op haar veertiende besloten haar ouders te gaan verhuizen naar een dorpje dichtbij Nashville. Op haar vijftiende kreeg ze een platendeal van RCA, die zij weigerde omdat ze haar eigen liedjes niet mocht opnemen. Ze kreeg kort daarna echter wel een andere platendeal aangeboden door Scott Borchetta van Big Machine, die haar had zien optreden in een café in Nashville. Ze werd ook de jongste songwriter aangenomen bij Sony/ATV Tree.

Montgomery Gentry is een Amerikaans country-duo bestaande uit Eddie Montgomery (broer van countryzanger John Michael Montgomery) en Troy Gentry. Beide broers en Gentry waren voorheen lid van dezelfde countryband, "Early Timz", die lokaal succes had in clubs in Kentucky. Nadat John Michael Montgomery de band verliet, om om zich op zijn solocarrière te concentreren, zijn Eddie Montgomery en Troy Gentry begonnen met het optreden als duo onder de naam Montgomery Gentry.

In 1999 werd het debuutalbum van het duo uitgebracht, "Tattoos & Scars", welke in de Verenigde Staten een platinastatus heeft verkregen. Na het debuut volgden nog vijf albums: "Carrying On" (2001), "My Town" (2002), "You Do Your Thing" (2004), "Some People Change" (2006), en het meest recentelijk "Back When I Knew It All" (2008). Het volgende album, dat "Montgomery Gentry" zal heten, wordt begin 2010 verwacht. Naast de reguliere studioalbums zijn er ook drie compilatiealbums uitgebracht.

Het duo heeft in de Verenigde Staten verschillende nummer-1 hits gehad. Op 26 mei 2009 ontving Montgomery Gentry een formele uitnodiging van Charlie Daniels om als lid toe te treden van de 'Hall Of Fame' van de Grand Ole Opry, waar alleen de elite van de countrymuziek wordt toegelaten. Op 23 juni 2009 was de inauguratie.

Wiki Sugarland: Oorspronkelijk bestond de groep uit driezangers / tekstschrijvers uit de regio Atlanta: zangeres Jennifer Nettles, samen met Kristian Bush en Kirsten Hall. Van hun debuutalbum Twice the Speed of Life (2004) werden twee miljoen exemplaren verkocht. De groep bracht vijf singles uit die van dit album afkomstig waren: Baby Girl, Something More, Just Might (Make Me Believe), Stand Back Up en Down In Mississippi (Up To No Good).

In het najaar van 2005 trad de band met Bon Jovi op tijdens de Country Music Television's muzikale "fusieshow", Crossroads. Nettles zong met Bon Jovi op hun single Who Says You Can't Go Home. Sugarland tourde in 2005 door de Verenigde Staten en Canada met Brad Paisley en een jaar later met Brooks & Dunn. De groep werd genomineerd voor een Grammy voor de Beste Nieuwe Artiest en speelde Something More tijdens de 48ste Grammy Awards-uitreiking in februari 2006.

In het begin van 2006 verliet Hall de groep. Nettles en Bush gingen als Sugarland door zonder haar. Later dat jaar bracht Sugarland een nieuw album uit: Enjoy The Ride, waarvan de al eerder uitgebrachte single Want to en de singles Settlin en Everyday America afkomstig waren. Tijdens hun (gedeeltelijk) Europese tour in 2009 heeft het duo ook in Nederland een concert gegeven.

Zac Brown, born the 11th of 12 children, was raised in Dahlonega, Georgia. He attended Lumpkin County High School, in Dahlonega in addition to South Forsyth High School in Cumming,GA. He began playing guitar as a teenager. He was often seen walking the halls of his high school playing guitar during his off period and between classes, just like the infamous, so-called "that dude." Previously, Brown and his father owned a restaurant in the Lake Oconee area of Georgia called "Zac's Place". Zac attended the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. He joined Kappa Alpha Order, but only stayed in college for two years. Zac Brown also began work as a philanthropist and humanitarian, planning income from his current album to enable the funding of the non-profit Homegrown Camp, designed as an "all inclusive children's camp that will teach diversity, freedom, teamwork, social justice, nutritional awareness, liberty and life skills as well as music and art".[1]

The Zac Brown Band released its first album, Far from Einstyne, in 2004, followed by Home Grown a year later. A live album entitled Live from the Rock Bus Tour followed in 2007 on the Home Grown label.

The Zac Brown Band then signed to Live Nation Records in 2008. Their first single, "Chicken Fried", was originally recorded in 2003 and included on the Home Grown album, but later re-recorded and released to country radio in 2008. This song was also recorded by The Lost Trailers, whose 2006 recording was released as a single but withdrawn after Brown decided that he wanted to release it himself instead.[2] Brown also co-wrote "Simple Life", a song recorded by The Lost Trailers on their 2006 self-titled album.

In October 2008, Atlantic Records took over distribution of "Chicken Fried". The band's album, The Foundation, was released under Atlantic Records' newly re-established country division in association with Home Grown/Big Picture label on November 18, 2008. The group had been previously signed with Live Nation Artists Records.[3] "Chicken Fried" reached Number One on the country charts in November 2008, making them the first country band to reach Number One with a debut single since Heartland did so in 2006 with "I Loved Her First".[4] In January 2009, Clay Cook joined as a multi-instrumentalist, and the band released its second single, "Whatever It Is". Like "Chicken Fried" before it, this song has reached Top 5 on the country charts and Top 40 on the pop charts. In July 2009, a third single, "Toes", was released and this became their second Number One hit in late October 2009. "Highway 20 Ride" is the album's fourth single.

Zac Brown Band received four nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards including New Artist of the Year, as well as Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for their Number One single, "Chicken Fried". They also received three Grammy nominations for Best Country Album, Best Country Performance By a Duo or Group With Vocals and Best New Artist. On January 31, 2010, the band won the award for Best New Artist.

The group is currently playing most songs of their yet-to-be-released follow-up album on tour. Although, most of the material is already recorded, no release date has been set.

Op 26 april 1986 werd in kernreactor nummer 4 van het complex een test uitgevoerd. De onervaren avondploeg ging testen of er bij uitval van de stoomturbine nog genoeg vermogen was om de koelinstallatie in bedrijf te houden. Hiervoor was een deel van het veiligheidssysteem van de reactor uitgeschakeld. Door een miscommunicatie tussen de reactoroperator en de koelwateroperator en door fouten in het ontwerp van de reactor raakte het koelwater echter aan de kook. De reactoroperator trok alle regelstaven (op 6 na) omhoog, terwijl de koelwateroperator het koelwaterniveau liet dalen. Hierop trad een mechanisme in werking dat de reactor 'op hol deed slaan' (dit wordt een meltdown genoemd). De energieproductie liep op tot tien keer het normale niveau, de brandstofstaven smolten doordat de temperatuur opliep tot meer dan 2000 °C en het koelwater raakte nog verder verhit. Onder de extreme druk scheurden de leidingen van het koelsysteem en sloeg de ontsnappende stoom het dak weg. Dit veroorzaakte een radioactieve stofwolk in de atmosfeer. Deze ontploffing vond plaats midden in de nacht, toen de meeste inwoners van Tsjernobyl sliepen.

Muse is een Britse band, die vooral alternatieve rockmuziek met klassieke invloeden uitbrengt. De band bestaat uit Matthew Bellamy (zang, gitaar, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (basgitaar) en Dominic Howard (drums). Bellamy is frontman en schrijft ook de meeste teksten.

In het begin werd Muse door vele critici gezien als een mengeling van Radiohead en Jeff Buckley. Dit stigma heeft stand gehouden tot en met Origin of Symmetry, ook al was dat volgens velen onterecht. Muse werd gevormd in de jaren '90 op een Engelse school. Bellamy was toen 16 jaar. Na het winnen van een "Battle of the bands"-competitie veranderde de de bandnaam van Rocket Baby Dolls in Muse. Muse trad de afgelopen jaren op op grote festivals als Pinkpop, Rock Werchter en Lowlands.
