The FAQ page of the House of Pizdauswe have a some question-answer page here. You can post your question or just thoughts about pizdaus down this page too.

Q: What is pizdaus? A: Pizdaus is a place where anyone can post his pictures, photos and others rate it. If it's cool it gets to the main page and more people can enjoy it. If it's not it gets burried but you still can post it to your blog or website using the link codes under each image.

Q: I see here my photo but I didn't post it! How this could happen? Would you remove it? A: Just send a removal notice to remove (AT) pizdaus.com and it would be removed. Sometimes people post things and don't know the exact copyrights, we ask not to do this and remove as soon as someone complain.

Q: Would we get registered usernames soon? A: Yep, very soon. We'll have a different voting power value for the registred users. All registred users would have preferred +2 voting power in the beginning. We will have an ability to vote for photos themselves, for comments, for usernames directly etc - all this would affect the voting power of each user. The community would decide what is cool, as always we did this at pizdaus.

If you're talking music videos in 2007, quantity was not an issue. Label-underwritten clips were just the tip of the iceberg. Bands sponsored contests, and dozens of videos would be made for a single song. Fans would make their own pieces, without being asked, just for kicks.

Singers were filmed walking through Paris and riding in a cab and standing on a balcony. Not to mention the army of fans with small portable cameras, preserving surprising show moments and spontaneous performances. So finding the best of these took some serious sifting. And yet, in a way, it was also easy. An interesting video makes itself known.

"Still photographs are the most powerful weapon in the world," AP photojournalist Eddie Adams once wrote. A fitting quote for Adams, because his 1968 photograph of an officer shooting a handcuffed prisoner in the head at point-blank range not only earned him a Pulitzer Prize in 1969, but also went a long way toward souring Americans’ attitudes about the Vietnam War.

For all the image’s political impact, though, the situation wasn’t as black-and-white as it’s rendered. What Adams’ photograph doesn’t reveal is that the man being shot was the captain of a Vietcong "revenge squad" that had executed dozens of unarmed civilians earlier the same day. Regardless, it instantly became an icon of the war’s savagery and made the official pulling the trigger - General Nguyen Ngoc Loan - its iconic villain.

Sadly, the photograph’s legacy would haunt Loan for the rest of his life. Following the war, he was reviled where ever he went. After an Australian VA hospital refused to treat him, he was transferred to the United States, where he was met with a massive (though unsuccessful) campaign to deport him. He eventually settled in Virginia and opened a restaurant but was forced to close it down as soon as his past caught up with him. Vandals scrawled "we know who you are" on his walls, and business dried up.

Adams felt so bad for Loan that he apologized for having taken the photo at all, admitting, "The general killed the Vietcong; I killed the general with my camera."

Half-French, half-Italian, Yan Nascimbene shared his childhood between these two countries. After working as a photographer's assistant in a Paris fashion studio, Nascimbene studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and at the University of California at Davis. There he met Joan Parazette, an art student as well.

Yan's work has been widely exhibited in the United States, France, Japan, England, Switzerland and Italy. He is the recipient of many awards, including a gold and two silver medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York and the Bologna International Graphic Award which he won three times.

My art currently deals with the phenomenon of “Porn Chic” which is omnipresent in our society. “Porn Chic” evolved in the 90s when the media contributed to the sexualisation of culture. As a result the boundaries between pornography and culture became blurred and permeable and elements of pornography trickled into the mainstream. Because of its popularity, extension and impact, creating awareness of its existence is, in my opinion, of utmost importance.

I aim to create awareness by blowing up “Porn Chic” images from advertisements and painting them in a semi-photorealistic way on large size canvases whilst maintaining the figure's sense of distance and glam aethetics. Subtly created dissonances, such as an elongated limb or a slightly lopsided eye, exaggerate the characters' expressions and stereotypical personalities. This provokes thought processes and urges the viewer to question this everyday glossy
explicitness.

For about the last eight years, I've been experiencing a sporadically recurring dream about the end of the world. Animals stampeding and buildings falling into dust around me, I wake up in a panic and with a heavy sense of inevitability.

Although I'm not trying to recreate this dream in my work, I think that like my dream, my paintings reflect my view of the nervous state of affairs the world seems to be in.Inspired by natural and unnatural disasters, personal fiascoes and the never ending stream of bad news coming in from the media, a relentless mob of curious plant-like creatures and other disasters have swarmed over the painted landscapes, threatening the creatures and life within. Like us, the creatures in my work stumble through the best they can; given their circumstances.

Acting out of vulnerability they try to create security but sometimes, like us, end up kicking their own asses. I am fascinated by the resilience of life. Every disaster is followed by rebirth, where we hike up our boots, duct tape our lives back together and try to cobble together a “plan b” out of what remains. My paintings document my love of both the urban landscape, and small twisted creatures.
