SILVER SCREEN Hayley's debut album in collaboration with Surefire Music Group, fuses her Classical and Celtic background with more modern heavy percussion, synth sounds, dramatic melodic progressions and R&B style vocal harmonies and layering.

Cold Chisel is a rock band that originated in Adelaide, Australia. It is one of the most acclaimed Australian rock bands of all time, with a string of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s and huge sales that continue to this day, although its success and acclaim was almost completely restricted to Australia and New Zealand.

Digitally remastered edition of this 1994 rarities collection from the Australian Rock 'n' Roll institution. Fronted by Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel's brand of no-nonsense Rock may not have been as riff-heavy as AC/DC, but their beloved back catalog remains as timeless as any Rock band before or since.

As Joe Bonamassa grows his reputation as one of the world’s greatest guitar players, he is also evolving into a charismatic blues-rock star and singer-songwriter of stylistic depth and emotional resonance. His ability to connect with live concert audiences is transformational, and his new album, Black Rock, brings that energy to his recorded music more powerfully than ever before.

Bonamassa circles the globe playing an average of 200 shows a year, and his mind-blowing guitar wizardry and electrifying stage presence are selling out progressively larger venues all the time. The OC Register’s Robert Kinsler has written, “Whether in a club or outdoors at a festival, something magnetic happens when Bonamassa steps to the front of the stage, leans his head back and simply lets loose.”

John rich.

There are just some things that country artists do better than any other music artist does, and that’s their ability to donate to causes and things that truly matter in the world. For as out of this world his persona gets at times, John Rich has a serious soft-spot for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN and while it’s one of country music’s ‘pet charities,’ it is that for good reason.

The hospital doesn’t turn any sick child away, regardless of their ability to pay for treatment or not. John Rich has spent this spring on Celebirty Apprentice and during this show he has won nearly $750,000 dollars for St. Jude’s and now he’s continuing to support the hospital with his SixPak For The Kids.

This SixPak collection is paying tribute to the friends and familes and kids of St. Jude’s that have inspired him from his very first day visitng there.

John Moreland & The Dust Bowl Souls - Everything the Hard Way

Kruising tussen Bruce Springsteen, dave grohl en neil young ?
Let (pas) op dit is echte rock and roll !

Yet it is constantly fucked up. It gets overproduced. People try to fancy it up by adding (gasp) keyboards. And then, they try to make the vocals sound pretty. Pretty has absolutely NOTHING to do with rock and roll. Rock and roll is raw emotion. Rock and roll is the pain of real life laid bare and exposed. John Moreland plays that kind of rock and roll.

Look up “prolific” in the dictionary. There is a good chance John’s picture is there. In the past 12 months, John has released 25 songs. Two full CDs, a two song EP and a 3 song EP. Most artists are lucky to get a decent 10 songs in 12 months. Of course, your first inclination is to think “there has got to be a lot of filler in there.” HA! I dare you to listen to any song on Everything the Hard Way and not think you have just heard the greatest lyric ever written. Its customary on these reviews to pick out a few standout songs and give them an in-depth analysis. This album has 10 songs that deserve that kind of attention. And frankly, to explain them to you before you get to hear them would be a grave disservice to you. It would take away the shock and awe of that first listen. And second listen.

What would happen if you took the UK’s leading contemporary bluesman and put him in the midst of the music community of north Mississippi? That question was posed at a chance meeting between Siegal’s manager and Cody Dickinson, co-founder and producer of the North Mississippi Allstars. The answer is THE SKINNY, a captivating fusion of Siegal’s song craft with influences of the hill country.

The band of musicians backing Siegal was coined The Youngest Sons when it was discovered that each was a youngest son: Garry Burnside (guitar/bass guitar), the youngest son of R L Burnside; Robert Kimbrough (guitar) of Junior Kimbrough; Rodd Bland (drums) of Bobby Blue Bland; and Cody Dickinson (drums/bass/woogie board), the youngest son of producer and pianist, Jim Dickinson. There are also contributions from Alvin Youngblood Hart, Duwayne Burnside and Andre Turner. The album brims with hooks and grooves, and is characterised by Siegal’s superbly crafted and intense lyrics about relationships lost, found, unrequited, cursed by human weakness or simply bedeviled by bad luck.

Timmo Gross (Slide), aanrader !

At his energy driven concerts, which he celebrates with an "empathetic and earthy voice" (Bluesmagazine, France), he presents his typical musical interpretation of Blues and Blue moods, between Delta and New Orleans, from Shuffle to Funk.

Conscious of tradition – but yet modern, his voice and guitar form an energetic and emotional unity and appear magically linked.
“Fallen From Grace” is 2011 studio album by Timo Gross which offers a lot of astute sounds for blues fans as well as for those who go for rock and pop. Like no one else, he is combining elements from different genres such as rock, funk and soul with emotional vocals and sweeping string play. And that’s exactly what makes “Fallen From Grace” a chameleonic blues album which reflects perfectly Timo Gross’ love for timbral details and musical humour that will surprise his curious listeners!

Change, while sometimes difficult, can also be a catalyst for something new and great. Such is the case with Planet of the Abts, a project that came together when Gov’t Mule went on hiatus earlier this year. The Mule rhythm section – drummer Matt Abts and bassist Jorgen Carlsson – along with guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist T-Bone Andersson, wanted to keep their outstanding chemistry going, and thus was born P.O.A., or Planet of the Abts.

P.O.A. is not of this world. It comes from the outer limits of the musical universe, a place of creativity, spontaneity and genius. Your destination is Planet of the Abts, and it’s time to make the journey.

The Dirty Streets is a band from Memphis, TN. Their sound is hard 70,s southern rock. The Dirty Streets formed in 2006, around the core of Toland and bassist Thomas Storz, who had bonded musically while playing together as a local band called Foodstamps.

After struggling for over a year to find a permanent drummer, Storz and Toland finally made the acquaintance of drummer (and, as luck would have it, Storz’s new neighbor) Andrew Denham, thus solidifying the group’s line-up. The newly formed trio forged a unique sound, equally reverent to punk predecessors like the MC5, hard rockers like Led Zeppelin and Grand Funk Railroad, and classic soul/R&B artists like James Brown and Sly & the Family Stone.

After gigging around town for a while, the Dirty Streets began to pick up.
…steam in 2009 with the release of the group’s impressive debut full-length album, Portrait of a Man. Later that same year, the band also got tapped to support local roots-punk heroes Lucero on a sizable portion of U.S. tour dates. Almost immediately after finishing Portrait of a Man, the group began working on new material and experimenting even further with musical styles.

"Elegant Stealth" represents a benchmark in the evolution of Wishbone Ash, one of the most influential guitar bands in the history of rock. Signature twin-lead melodies and a powerhouse rhythm section frame 11 new tracks that reflect a diverse realm of styles and moods. Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash has more than 20 original studio recordings and several live albums to their credit. On "Elegant Stealth", the group coalesces around strong songwriting and serious chops.

Founding member Andy Powell handles lead vocals and trades licks with Finland’s guitar wizard Muddy Manninen. Bassist Bob Skeat, a 14-year veteran of the band and in-demand studio musician, sets the pace with Joe Crabtree, one of the best of Britain’s new breed of drummers, having played with Pendragon and David Cross of King Crimson. The band demonstrates its versatility on "Elegant Stealth", from the pop/rocker “Reason to Believe” to the gentler vibe of “Give it Up” to tunes like “Warm Tears” and “Big Issues,” where the band gets to stretch out and flex its musical muscles.

Guest artists appearing on the new CD include Deep Purple’s Don Airey, who played Hammond B3 organ on the instrumental “Mud-slick,” and Ireland’s Pat McManus played fiddle on “Can’t Go It Alone,” which he penned specially for Wishbone Ash.

Taxi has spent the last six years touring America non-stop, and their astute observations on the American condition resound with a truth and values ethos that all can relate to.

After all, these guys have seen a lot, having played more than 750 shows in their short history together and traveling close to 500,000 miles in that time, spreading a brand of music that they affectionately refer to as “Americana without borders.”

The 12 tracks on Paradise Lost include a couple of reflective ballads, a sing-along or two, and some rockers that will make you want to get up and shake your money-maker.

Great American Taxi, along with their friend and producer Todd Snider, deliver a collection of what Staehly calls “electric folk music for our times.” Paradise Lost is an ode to the American Dream, often times forsaken but always there to be rediscovered.

Few bands in the early 2000s rose so quickly to the forefront of pop music as the Killers. With a mix of '80s-styled synth pop and fashionista charm, the band's street-smart debut, Hot Fuss, became one of 2004's biggest releases, spawning four singles and catapulting the group — particularly their dandyish, 22-year-old frontman, Brandon Flowers — into the international spotlight. Hot Fuss reveled in the garish glitz of the band's native Las Vegas, spinning tales of androgynous girlfriends...
