Michael Trempenau was born in Denmark, and grew up in Vesterbro with his mother, Doris, who died April 2010 at the age of 80, and two brothers, Dennis and Kim. Mike started his musical career singing in a youth group club in Copenhagen.

After the demise of White Lion in 1992, Mike formed the rock band Freak of Nature, with whom he released three albums. In 2005, Tramp formed the band, "Tramp's White Lion", playing only White Lion songs. TWL toured during 2005 and released a double-live CD entitled Tramp's White Lion: Rockin' In The USA.

In 2006 Tramp's White Lion toured Europe in November and December 2006 with British band Crimes of Passion, however this tour was cancelled after a show in Belgium due to illness. White Lion toured the USA & played at two European festivals in the summer of 2007.

On November 13th, 2010, "Mike Tramp and the Rock'n'Roll Circuz" released a new song called "Hymn To Ronnie," a tribute song to former Heaven & Hell and Black Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who passed away on May 16, 2010 after a 6-month long battle with stomach cancer. It will not be released on any studio album, but is available for free download at Eddie Trunk's website.

The next solo album will be released early in 2011.
